Fake North Face Jackets on eBay

Because there are so many scumbags in the world, you won't be suprised to hear that eBay is full of faked North Face Jackets.

The North Face XCR jacket.

I got stung, once, I thought... but no, I got stung twice. I had bought a goretex North Face jacket with zip in fleece liner. Also I bought a Nuptse jacket, both are very popular. So I will help you decide whether what you are buying is a fake. Chances are, if it's on eBay then it probably is. A shame because eBay work very hard to protect peoples intellectual property.

The label on the inside is a giveaway. If this is what you have, then it is a fake.
This is a picture of the zipper on the internal fleece. Like the outer jacket, it is on the left. Real North Face jackets have the zipper on the right.

No expense is spared to have you over. This is the liner of the outer coat. The outer layer is supposed to be Goretex. It isn't Goretex at all of course. But to show you the lengths that these people go to, you can see how the internal liner is embossed with the North Face logo. I am told that this jacket is not a copy of one North Face ever made. So one check to perform when thinking of buying, is to check the North Face site and make doubly sure that is looks the same in all aspects. Also check with the seller that he/she will accept returns. Pay using Paypal, it will help you if the wheel comes off.

Moving on to the North Face Nuptse jacket.

I bought this one on ebay from a seller with the ID mobbdeals1. I was very happy when I got the jacket and gave the guy positive feedback. Sadly it was only later that day when I realised, and it was too late.

The jacket was advertised as a Summit Series 900. In the text of the add, the word Nuptse is used. Now this is a very popular jacket. The quality however is abysmal.

To all outward appearances, it looks ok. But the quality of the stitching is bad, mine started coming undone the afternoon I recieved it. You will note the Summit Series logo on the arm. The real Nuptse jacket does not have this.

Again the label inside is a giveaway, in the same way as the XCR jacket featured above. This one is from the fake jacket.

This is the real one, taken from an Adder Brown jacket. Also note that on eBay it is possible to purchase "genuine" jackets in colours that North Face doesn't even make!

On a final note. You may be able to see the internal pocket of the jacket you are looking at. The real one is vertical and is located on the left breast with the zip just inside the main zip. On the fake jacket, there is a very shoddy square shaped pocket with a horizontal zip.

Hope this helps.

Management

It went something like this....
November....
Boss: We have money for a new car for you, what would you like?
Me: Ooh, anything other than a Mondeo, we have one and it is rubbish
Boss: Why?
Me: It drives like a dog and we would like something that doesnt actually look like an unmarked car..
Boss: I will make sure you are involved in the buying process.

Today....
Boss: You'll be pleased to know you collect the new Mondeo next month.

Result! I was beginning to think that my lack of university education was holding me back...

The Rise

So the pay rise arbitration went well. The Police staff side argued it and eventually we were awarded 2.5%. The new Home Secretary, bless her has suggested it shouldn't be back dated and feels the award should be due in December, giving a real pay rise figure of 1.9%
Thanks for that, I'm sure we will all be looking forward to running towards those bombs when the terrorists pay us another visit.

RIP Jack

A horrendous week again for young males getting killed. If you read the papers or the online news you would be forgiven for thinking that the police are at fault for the boys death. Is that the true story though?
Yes of course, it would be great if the police office on Limes Farm estate was open 24 hours a day. In fact it would be great if Essex Police had the resources to provide coverage on foot on the estate. The reality of course is that the money isnt there to do it, a different story to the one I want to focus on.

Jack Large, 14, was killed last week after being stabbed twice. Once in the back and once through the back of his neck up in to the brain. Awful in it's own right, and made worse by the fact that the person who is alleged to have done this, is also a child.
To read the papers, you would be forgiven for thinking that these things just happen and that there is no background to the story. You are intelligent enough to know there must be.
It is now a matter of publid knowledge that Jack was subject to an asbo. He was stabbed at 1115 pm. His asbo said he had to be indoors at 9pm. Yet he was stabbed half a mile away from his house. Why was he out?? The papers say that Jack was a reformed ASBO boy. (Ilford Recorder). Yet surely if he was reformed, he would have been obeying the terms of his ASBO. People in the paper are quoted as saying Jack was a normal boy. Does your normal son have an ASBO? Mine doesn't. You don't get an ASBO for helping out the schoolteacher, or for pioneering a fight against knife crime. You get one for consistently being a nightmare to the local population. It would be harsh to say that at 14 you live by the sword. He did not deserve death. Where were his parents? They will no doubt be blaming everyone else, but they have to admit to themselves that they should have had him under control, the state should not raise their children for them.
